Trish Martin joined the Holler-Classic family 9 years ago when she needed a new car and a change of pace, and she never looked back.

When Trish’s car was totaled, she went to Holler Hyundai to find a pre-owned vehicle. To her surprise, her sales representative Fred Coley asked what she did for a living and told her she would be good in car sales. She was looking to learn something new, so she went for it and started the next journey of her career. Since then, she has also worked in finance and moved on to her current role in sales at Holler Honda.

The environment at Holler Honda is fast paced, and the clientele is diverse, which created challenges Trish had not previously faced. Her sales manager Richard Drexel helped push her in the beginning, and she has taken off from there. Honda is a solid brand, one that Trish is happy to sell, having owned two Honda Accords. By the end of this year, she is looking to get into a new Honda, an Accord or a CR-V.

Trish approaches sales by asking her customers deep questions and getting them to open up during the sales process. Many of her customers have become friends, and some, like her first Hyundai Genesis customer, come to the store to visit her. Since she spends most of her time at the dealership, building meaningful connections with customers just makes sense.

Working in car sales is rewarding for Trish. Having the opportunity to meet people from all over the world has expanded her horizons. Every year, she learns about new technology in cars. When she started out in car sales, she never thought she would be selling plug-in hybrids. As she is learning, she is able to use her teaching skills with customers.

“It reminds me of being a school teacher. You get to teach and train people,” Trish said.

Trish also teaches others outside of work. As a freelance writer, she tells stories about positive news in Orlando, Pine Hills, and other Central Florida areas. She also writes about informative pieces about local people and politics. Aside from writing, she is active in her church community and serves on her local YMCA advisory board.

In and outside of work, Trish has the opportunity to meet and learn about new people, an opportunity she always cherishes. As a woman of faith, she takes pride in helping others with encouraging words. Trish loves meeting new people, and she hopes to have an positive influence on everyone she meets.
