Your vehicle contains hundreds of gaskets, and it is important that they are kept in good condition. Gaskets are made to last and can handle extreme temperatures. It is necessary to replace worn or deteriorating gaskets to avoid damage to your vehicle.

Gaskets are mostly made of multi-level steel. Other common materials that are used for gaskets include copper and rubber. There are many types of gaskets, which include head gaskets, intake manifold gaskets, exhaust manifold gaskets, and bearing gaskets.

There are signs to look for that will let you know your gaskets may be failing. If you notice a white substance on the dip stick when you check your oil level, then it’s best to have it inspected because a gasket could be damaged. In addition, bubbling, gurgling, and foaming coming from under the hood could mean that there is a hole in a gasket.
